Location
The holiday region Katschberg is located directly between the border of Carinthia and Salzburger Land and unites the best of both Austrian states – the stunning nature and mountain landscape. The region Katschberg links three villages – Katschberghöhe on the mountain, Rennweg in Carinthia and St. Margarethen in Salzburg Lungau in the valleys.
In the heart of the Austrian Alps, you will find the Katschberg ski area. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy their turns here on 70 kilometres of alpine slopes of all levels of difficulty. In the sun-drenched skiing area, ten kilometres of pistes are marked blue, 40 kilometres of downhill runs are marked red and 20 kilometres are marked black. In the medium-sized ski area, everyone will find the right winter sports terrain for themselves – whether beginner, advanced or professional. From the valley stations of Katschberg and St. Margarethen, 16 modern lifts take winter sports enthusiasts to Aineck (2,220 metres) and Tschaneck (2,030 metres), the two mountains in the ski area.
In the summertime you can enjoy Katschhausen(a park for children) with the family. At Katschhausen you can: visit the children’s zoo or let the children loose on the many bridges and slides and the water world. You can also experience a great golf course at the local club. If you like to wander, this is something you can explore at the Nockberge biosphere park. This paradise for mountaineers can be explored in many different ways with 216 square kilometres of landscape.
